@Hyolobrika@logoninternet care less about things that don't affect you and do research on things that do. One problem with journalists is that they have a tendency to sensationalize and politicize issues to make them seem more important. I mean, if they didn't have important shit to tell you no one would give them money so this is expected, but it does a good bit of harm to society when their sensational interpretation of events doesn't align neatly with some form of reality. Another problem is that at least in the modern era most of their money comes from advertisers not information consumers. This leads to advertising being camouflaged into news itself or news about one of their sponsors to be manipulated or ignored.
@PNS yeah wtf. Anyone pushing themselves has hit a point where they can't get the bar up. Roll it down to your gut simple as. He looked like he was a few seconds from passing out there

Disinformation Purveyor :verified_think:This approach gained momentum with substantial federal grants directed toward smart policing solutions. The LAPD, led by Police Chief William Bratton, spearheaded one of the initial trials in 2009 with $3 million in federal funding. The goal was to predict crime-prone areas and deploy officers pre-emptively to deter criminal activities. The involvement of respected figures like Bratton lent credibility to the technology, leading to its adoption by other departments nationwide. By 2014, a survey revealed that 38% of 200 surveyed departments were using predictive policing, and 70% were planning to implement it in the coming years.
@Flick@HebrideanHecate I think if we break out in world war there is a very good probability that nuclear weapons will be used to emp vulnerable power grids.
I am a guy that does things. I used to run charlestown (dot) social along with a handful of other fedi sites (I've run peertube, pixelfed, mastodon, pleroma, and a few others) but I couldn't really get local adoption to pick up and the server costs were starting to run away so I downsized and Moon invited me over here while I regroup.> You are a manipulative liar and I have seen enough from you to have figured this out at this point. - Jeff Cliff
