As someone who has immersed herself in a melange of medications to evolve myself into something different and powerful I relate a lot to the Guild Navigators
I wish I could tell people who call being trans a choice what it feels like I chose.
I wish they knew everything I chose to gave up. I gave up security and stability: financially, politically, romantically, medically, physically. I wish they knew the things that broke and can’t be fixed and the hurt and pain I can't take back.
They’re right, I chose all of that. But it wasn’t the choice to start pretending I'm someone I'm not, but the choice to stop.
So I’m currently unemployed and would love to use this time productively.
If anyone knows any queer folks (teens, kids, undergrads) who are in need of free (remote) tutoring in physics or math let me know! I’d love to find some time to help.
My bone fides are
BS in Physics and Astronomy (double major)
MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering with a focus on numerical methods and nuclear physics.
As an elder millennial, of course freshman year of college in the year of our lord 2003 (dear god) I wanted a new AIM handle. I used a random generator and ended up with MagneticRooster. I used that for years for everything before eventually dropping the Magnetic part.
Definitely infinity. I am fascinated by fact that in math you can have sets that are both infinite but also different sizes. So the infinite set of integers compared to the infinite set of real numbers. Infinity doesn’t need to be DENSE, there can be space between infinite members and still be infinite.
The idea that, for example, there are infinite universes but you’re still cute in all of them (math fact).
Bay Area gal who posts too many selfies, bad takes and science threads. Feel free to boost my posts. Mom, Jewish, late 30s, veteran, raccoon lover, fission girl. I love RPGs, MMOs, sci-fi, and fantasy. I have a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and love chatting about it!♎️♉️♏️
