I switched instances today. I used to have my own private one, but since my activism is growing stronger by the hour, I thought it's probably a good idea to join a nice instance with a local timeline full of somewhat likeminded people I don't know yet.
Therefore, I'm writing a quick #Introduction :masto_blush:
I'm Fabi, my preferred pronouns are et/em, I am a nonbinary climate activist in the 30s from Germany. I studied communication and documentation, my last job before burnout destroyed me a few years ago was web design, before that I was a professional videographer and photographer (I technically still am and am trying to combine that with my activism somehow, which is difficult - I want to be behind and in front of the camera at the same time).
I make music with gameboys and am good with computers. My body is inked, pierced, and modified (tongue split gang, solidarity with all reptiles).
My exact gender is difficult to pinpoint, but Fae sounds about right (genderfluid nonbinary masc-excluding). I'm polyromantic, mostly demisexual, polyamorous but affectionate, pretty kinky, a sub wanting to be more switchy.
I'm currently focussing my energy on growing a local chapter of Letzte Generation, but I also support other groups as well, I've done stuff with XR before, I always join FFF and Antifa demos if possible, and am going to join or at least actively support an animal rights movement soon as well.
I live in the center of a medium-sized town that has one of the highest amounts of cars per inhabitants in the country (I don't own such a thing and never will), so mobility turnaround is another thing I'd love to see. Cars should be banned anyway so blocking them is always a nice thing.
I became active after January 14th, 2023, when I joined the demo against the destruction of Lützerath. I realized that protests with tens of thousands of people apparently aren't enough to make people (specifically politicians and media) understand what science is trying to tell us.
I am autistic and am scarred by depression and social anxiety. And I'm infinitely thankful to the the entire climate justice movement for being such a nice and welcoming place where I can feel safe, and where I can be myself. You (now we) might be life savers.
