@gentrifiedrose @feditips White men have already taken over most of the servers. Just look at how many minorities are admins and mods vs how many white men are.

Minorities get chased off larger servers because of it. Moderation is no better in the fediverse than it was on Twitter. Not for minorities, anyways. We’re subjected to more abuse in many ways, thanks to decentralised servers and cowboy-style moderation.

@aral Unfortunately, the alternative to Erdogan was no better. People are attracted to him because he's "secular," and Islamophobia is so damn strong that anyone "secular" is immediately favoured over those who claim to follow Islam.

Kilicdaroglu would have made things very bad for practicing Muslims in Turkiye (which still make up the majority of the country, btw). I know that folks don't care about the plight of Muslims, but we are humans, too. Turkish nationalism & secularism are bad.

@doxy_cycling @earthworm @joelle The worst thing is that society thinks that breasts = women. Women feel pressure to get reconstruction surgery, lest they be viewed as “less feminine.” Our “femininity” (don’t like that word, because it has a very narrow definition, and doesn’t allow for all the different ways women should be allowed to live and express themselves!!) is defined by others, and by our physical forms. It’s utter BS.
