@realcaseyrollins Let’s visit the fact that there are people so hopelessly attached to soda that they justify “diet soda” in order to keep their vice going.
Imagine for a moment how ridiculous that is. We don’t have “diet cake” or “diet milk shakes”. Why diet soda?
First group: Is nothing new. Users hate having the layout of a familiar GUI changed on them. So much so that companies actually implement redesigns slowly in piecemeal so that there is no singular jarring change for anyone to point at.
But mostly it’s probably just an excuse for them to be lazy and to not have to take responsibility for their digital presence.
Second group: jfl. On the web it used to be the norm to have a different handle everywhere. The people who really care to interact with you will continue to do so regardless of whether your handle is etched into stone.

Yeah… about that…

If you want a chance at digital sovereignty, you’re going to have to be willing to let go of modern x86.
@luke is the money really worth your soul?
GAVI:
The healthy markets goal
Ensure healthy markets for vaccines and related products.
@projectmirai39 The place is crawling with them. They don’t have the will to let go of the all the little vices holding them back.
@xianc78 @Zealist @hachi @Omega_Variant @zombiefinatic VPNs can only be useful in these circumstantial situations. Preventing a site from knowing your real IP, getting around blocks -
I once discovered a site which banned my IP after I reloaded it too many times trying to get the right assets loaded in uMatrix. It considered me to be a bot. A VPN from a new IP got me the rest of the way.

I don’t know why it is that the FSF insists on using weak cryptography. Anyway here is the archived link.
Two years ago an independent musician put together an excellent atmospheric musical score inspired by Minetest. Each is polished and professional. I placed the works into my local copy of the ambience mod so that a track plays periodically and was reminded at just how much a background scoring can really tie a game together. If it were up to me, this would be part of Minetest Game.
@Jdogg247 Entire generations have had incalculable opportunities stolen from them. Numerous monopolies have been irreversibly strengthened. The value of our money itself has been cut in half (or worse). Liberties have been eroded with no return in sight.
And it was all powered by people manipulated into fearing the sniffles.
@moddedbear Welcome to the club. Luckily there are some cool people making decent hardware and software still.
@ryo The psychopathy hasn’t ended yet.
Rejecting a program because it is tangentially related to somebody who said/did something you don’t like :akkoEew:
Rejecting a program for being proprietary trashware :akkofingerguns:
@trogluur I wonder how bad gnome is going to sperg out about this on devices which don’t even use UEFI.
Things to really like about Alpine Linux
It will probably be joining the other tools in my toolbox. @alpinelinux
@SuperDicq @mntmn The turnaround time on RYF certification process seems to be quite slow. Basically they would need hands on access with the hardware.

Yes. Much freedom. Very free.
The one who has gained more freedom in this exchange is the party which has found themselves migrating away from microsoft and oracle vendor-locked digital prisons.
