Heavens FeelSo, before I get too into my review, I should fess up to being
one of the few people who actually enjoyed Alien Covenant.
I never had an issue with the creatures being BOWs, and that explanation was enough to account for the bizarre bio-organic morphology.
The writers found a way to include some of the material from Covenant and Prometheus in this interquel movie (it's
set before Aliens but takes place after Prometheus and after Alien.)
Having seen Alien Romulus, I can say that the people involved in
it genuinely love the Alien franchise. This includes all the
movies as well as the videogame Alien Isolation. Their presence is felt strongly in this film which in a way is a "greatest hits" compilation of things from the Alien series of films. The sets of the Romulus and Remus modules on the space station will probably take you back to your high-tension runs through the Sevastapol or remind you of the Nostromo's layout in the first film. Character beats and nods to existing continuity are scattered throughout the film which will be enjoyable for many fans looking for a return to classic form.
The crew is disposable (this is a body count film set in outer space, with the heroes being in the worst place at the worst time, which is
to be expected) but there were no annoying girlbosses or awful woke moments that took me out of the film. One thing I found incredibly annoying about the trailers for Alien Romulus was how much of the film they showed. If I'm going to see a horror film, I shouldn't see who gets attacked and/or killed by the monster in the trailer. This should be common sense.
Is Alien Romulus worth seeing in the theater? Ultimately no. Think of it as
a better-than-expected rental from Blockbuster back in the day. It'll hit Hulu (and also torrents) in a few months and you can see it then. But as it's a horror film, set the mood right by watching it at night in a darkened room, listening to the audio over headphones.
Final Rating: B, but longtime fans of the Alien franchise will get more out of it. For them, the rating would be a B+.
@franz The timer came in a two pack. I connected the other one to a usb charger for their phones. They sometimes forget to take them off the charger, so I set up the timer to run for two hours, then one off, then another two, etc. The exception to this pattern is after midnight. After 0000 hours it's off for about three midnight so you can safely connect your phone to charge overnight.

Heavens FeelFantastic Four 2005
This movie was a heartfelt trainwreck. It was colorful enough but was mostly miscast,
especially in the case of jessica alba, who I couldn't believe was a scientist or an astronaut.
Chris Evans as the Human Torch was incredibly annoying and insensitive. In my view, a lot of his actions towards Ben Grimm, who became disfigured and misshapen because of his mutation, come off as extremely cruel bullying. The poor man's already been through enough. Give him a break.
The guy who they cast to play Reed did a decent enough job. They mishandled Dr. Doom quite badly. Doom didn't have the larger-than-life feel he is supposed to have
and they left out the part about him being a wizard about on the level of the Sorceror Supreme. They did remember to have him be Latverian but I'll have to wait until
the next one to see if they do anything with that plot thread.
Final Rating: C- . I've seen much much worse [Monster A Go Go for example] so
I can't give it a D or E but this isn't good. This is the kind of thing you watch on an airplane flight because it's the only movie available and your phone battery just went dead.
=======================
Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
An attempt was made! This one was closer to the feel of the comics - galactic events, a team-up with Dr. Doom, plenty of family stresses and disagreements, and Sue and Reed finally tying the knot to a media blitz. It also didn't have to struggle with being an origin story for the team. The depiction of Silver Surfer was acceptable and he was probably the character with the most dynamic arc, which unfortunately left a lot of the other characters to react to disasters and say lines. Doom was back but again did not feel like a visionary would-be king or Emperor of Earth.
Final Rating: C. Not as bad as its predecessor but there are much better uses of your time. This is the kind of film you'd see on cable tv in a hotel room - not great or good but you're tired of flipping through channels and want something to watch before you go to sleep.
If you want to see some older movies with Marvel characters, Raimi's Spiderman 1 and 2 and
Blade 1 and 2 are much, much better.
@rlier23 This release is based on the Réalta Nua version, so no H-scenese. At some point, modders will probably create a way to mod those back into the game. And another popular mod will be be one that changes Saber's name in this release from Altria to Artoria (or Arturia).

Heavens FeelI just saw Longlegs. The movie is skillfully directed and makes good use of weird camera angles. Scenes are given time to breathe and a rich atmosphere of dread suffuses the film. Fans of such works as Millennium and Silence of the Lambs will probably enjoy the movie.
To help promote the film, the creative staff behind it made a custom amateur-looking website discussing the lore and events behind the story of the movie, much in the style of The Blair Witch Project. I'm not going to link to it here - I think going in to the film completely fresh is the best way to experience it.
I'll eventually see it again and I do intend to get a copy of it for my movie collection, but it was unsettling enough that I feel I don't need to revisit it anytime soon.
@ShowerThoughts Agreed. I was appalled when I saw parents bringing their kids in to watch Deadpool 1. That said, I was stunned when I saw them bringing in very young children to see Watchmen.
@Kagekokoro fair enough. Inmo the wiimote does make it possible to provide more styles of dance games compared to DDR/stepmania type stuff ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x-AJdbrAqM ) but go with the dance pad if that's what you love.
@Kagekokoro Fans have put together megacompilation just dance games for the wii. That is an easy system to emulate and a sensorbar + wiimote are simple enough to setup for dancing, even in an area with a limited amount of space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf3R91Cei40&t=28s
