I read the first novel of Higehiro, it was very good, the heroines were all cute, the hero was good too, it was competently written, everything you’d want. But I must recommend it only with great caution. The delusion that you can take a whore and make her a housewife is a siren song that has led countless men to their doom over the millennia. If you are susceptible to letting fiction inform your worldview then I encourage you to stay away. Or as the youths would say: this is a certified hood classic, but for real niggas only. -

@Rwoeidk @DW2 Idk man my mom and dad sit down to watch an hour of tv every night after dinner like they’ve done their whole lives even though they haven’t liked a new show in years. My dad will even walk out of the room to read a book for the rest of the after dinner relaxation time if they show men kissing, but he comes right back the next day. I don’t get it. -

@mkultra Such an inflated sense of their own self worth that they don’t even realize that it’s a sexual marketplace where they’re both buying AND selling, so they make no attempt to sell themselves and they reveal what a disaster they are and wonder why they’re still single. I have no positive expectations for modern women and yet I’m still surprised at how out of this world retarded they are. -

@jetzkrieg There’s a certain strain of progressively minded white men in America who become utterly consumed with guilt and shame at their own identity, sometimes even moreso if they have a wife and child, especially white. “My team, the good guys, have lgbt families, adopted kids, or mixed race families. People see me, a white guy, with a white wife and wife kids and I look like a Trump supporter!!” Drives em nuts. Now he knows that when fellow progressives look at him their first thoughts aren’t “straight white male privilege” it’s “lgbt”.
There’s another strain of progressively minded white men in America who are psychopathic, and trooning out means you get to disgust everyone around you wherever you go, harass and possibly ruin the lives of everyone who confronts you, and specifically you get to mentally torture all your friends and family who aren’t super into troonshit by making them call you a dumb new name and wrong pronouns. When you’re a white man in America you’re in the bottom of the social hierarchy and trooning out gives you the right to be a bully and an abuser in a way you don’t have as a normal white man. You also don’t even need to stop being married or having sex with girls, just out the dress on and say you’re a lesbian, and you suddenly get to do all this evil shit with no downsides (for now)
It could also be a little bit of both. -

@AlbinoMutant @jetzkrieg I’m not going to say that porn is not a factor but I don’t think it makes sense to call it an important factor. The same free pornography that’s being consumed by most Americans is being consumed by men all over the world, but as far as I’m aware this phenomenon of the mid life crisis tranny/married man troons out is mostly limited the the US and to a lesser extent the rest of the Anglosphere. Why aren’t the porn addled middle easterners, or Japanese, or Koreans, or Russians, or anyone else trooning out en masse? Other factors are at play here, social and political incentives. -

Mysterious Girlfriend X is the best manga about teenage romantic nostalgia. In terms of plot it’s a strange (in the best way) mix of “nothing ever happens” and intense sexual encounters. They start dating at the start of the series, but they never do any normal couple things. She takes him to an abandoned building at twilight, blindfolds him, and strips naked, but they never have sex. They exchange saliva every chapter, but they never kiss.
There is a powerful, dreamlike feeling to the whole series, not just in the very memorable dream sequences the protagonist regularly has about the heroine. They are very often seemingly the only people in the world; the seasons constantly change yet time never passes. The main characters are delightful, and the stories are all very charming and well written, but it’s the atmosphere that makes the manga such a triumph. It not only really captures what it felt like to be a teenage boy, the angst, the constant thinking about sex but never having it, the push and pull of sexual desire and the desire for chastity between you and the object of your love, and above all the innocence and purity of your love despite all the lust, but it also captures the experience of being nostalgic for those times, how the time runs together in your memory, and how you know you’re fonder of those times than they were actually good, yet the rose tinted version is somehow truer than reality. “Maybe one’s adolescence seems so dazzling because nothing happened, because those days were boring.” the mangaka opines in the afterward of the final volume. With that in mind you, too, can avoid becoming a “nothing ever happens” fag and enjoy what it is this series is going for.
The anime adaptation is terrific as well, so give it a watch if you’re too low IQ to read. -
