finally finished migrating my VPN chain setup to systemd-networkd. I think the manpages could've been a bit more explicit about the underlying mechanisms (I had to do some digging to find out how it does NAT/masquerading...) but otherwise I really like it.
so I was just trying to solve a problem with Julia's GLFW.jl not finding the OpenGL drivers on NixOS. When I finally figured out the fix and started typing out the command, my shell autosuggested the rest of it. A quick glance into my shell history revealed that I had the exact same problem 2 years ago, came up with the exact same fix back then and had completely forgotten about it in the meantime.
The #devenv CLI does rely on informed consent and neither `devenv.sh` nor `devenv.new` have a privacy policy or will tell you who runs the service and who it shares its data with.
In #nixpkgs the package was bumped to 1.4.0 after which @ck immediately sent a follow-up PR¹ to enable `DO_NOT_TRACK=1` when wrapping the devenv binary.
This was promptly reverted² by the author of devenv.
this might be a stupid question, but isn't async/await basically the same as Haskell's monadic IO plus parallelization?
The way I see it, futures returning a data type T are equivalent to Haskell's IO T, declaring a function with return type T to be `async` is the same as declaring its Haskell analogue to have return type IO T, and await is equivalent to >>= and <-. If the asynchronous code in the imperative language is pure, it should even have a 1:1 analogue in Haskell.
