This year's #TransDayOfVisibility hits me a lot harder. In addition to multiple gender non-conforming partners and chosen family enriching my life, I have just begun to understand being #nonbinary late in life myself, and it has brought me joy I never expected to experience.

Today, we renew our resolve to fight for acceptance for all #transgender people, and to protect those who are not yet able to live their lives to their authentic fullest. (And if you want to do something good today: Please donate to https://translifeline.org which operates a crisis hotline, and provides financial legal-aid microgrants.)

It's been a bad several years, to put it very mildly. But I've been a #queer activist for 30 years, and I'm not stopping now. I have fought battles like this before, and I will do what I can to teach the next generation to defeat hate this time too.
