Bluesky is less than 100k and its dev team are already struggling in embarrassing ways when it comes to addressing violent threats against Black women.

I've been very curious to see what would happen when the Nazis started to show themselves, and predictably it is not going well.

"Hope has two beautiful daughters. Their names are anger and courage; anger at the way things are, and courage to see that they do not remain the way they are."

That's the energy the left needs to bring to COVID minimization.

Strategic hope, anger, courage: those are our jobs.

You leave, you shout them down, you counter them, you mock them.

But you never engage them in good faith.

Folks are learning this firsthand with Elon, but it's always true with fascists.

Always.

The only way to deal with a fascist is to drop the assumption of good faith.

You know what they want: to harm vulnerable people, one way or another.

So you don't give an inch.

You call their disingenuous little acts faking civility and reason out for the bullshit they are.

They throw out ten outrages at once.

The mildest one is the one they want, the rest are distractions.

We bat away eight or so outrages, and we're left with only one or two terrible things left on our plate.

And it feels like a defensive victory.

But of course it isn't.

If you spend a lot of time on Twitter and you have a sense of unmooredness after the last week of Twitter/Elon news, you're not alone.

If it reminds you of news from 2016-2021, you're not alone.
