#Mastodon interaction lessons-learned:
— Be authentic.
— Like life, everyone is on their own journey and timeframe. Don’t compare yourself to others in posting frequency or content.
— Follower counts don’t define your/others’ value.
— When deciding between engaging and withdrawing, err on the side of engaging.
— Sometimes, threads you’re mentioned on just conclude. Your presence didn’t cause it to die.
— An ongoing conversation among mutuals isn’t purposefully excluding you. Most likely, they’d be happy to have you join in.
— Sometimes, people will stop interacting with you. As long as you weren’t being a jerk, it’s probably not about you, and you need to just let it go.
— Likes are unlimited. Go ahead and like that post; it’ll make the author’s day a bit brighter.
— If your post doesn’t receive likes, it’s okay. Your awesome post just got lost in the shuffle.
— Lifting up others feels really f$*cking good. Whether on Masto or elsewhere, aim to find yourself in a community where this is the norm.
