Anti-trans hate is rising in #Canada, and it’s become so normalized a fucking premier felt safe in rolling back rights for trans kids.

It’s 9:30am & I just heard the word “hate-crime” used as a verb (eg. “I’m afraid of getting hate-crimed”) on the CBC for the 1st time.

Anyways, I’m donating 5$ to a Canadian #LGBTQ charity today & wanted to share a good roundup of who’s out there doing what if you’d like to join in.

Just finished The Terraformers by @annaleen and unreservedly recommend it to all & sundry. Newitz has done some of the finest world-building I’ve ever seen, then peopled her world with enthralling, complicated characters. It’s an epic that wrangles with environmentalism, politics, colonialism, questions of personhood, nuanced sexuality, & workers vs corps.
If this book isn’t shortlisted for various Best Book awards, I’ll be shocked.

Read it.
