@poppinwillow The "international community" doesn't recognize the referendums because the "international community" is led by the American Empire and Russia is a competitor to it. They will NEVER support anything that helps Russia stay a strong, and independent power.

@poppinwillow If the democratic will of the people of Eastern Ukraine is not being respected, and if they're discriminated against by Ukrainian armed forces because they're ethnic Russians, then it is Russia's moral right to intervene, and occupy and annex those majority Russian areas, to ensure their safety, and to ensure their will is manifested in government, and to offer them whatever services ie housing, medical care they need.

@poppinwillow It seems like you're saying that if they wish to secede, that that's not allowed because it would be a violation of Ukrainian sovereignty. So you place this concept of "sovereignty" ABOVE that of the Democratic will of the people?

@poppinwillow But you didn't answer my question. What if the people of Eastern Ukraine WANT to secede from Ukraine?

@poppinwillow What the UN says doesn't matter. It is just a body. It does not take away or give moral authority. The Russian state has the right to protect and incorporate the ethnic Russian regions of Ukraine into their country. This is an ethnic conflict. It's about protecting the sovereignty of the Russian people against US hegemony.

@poppinwillow Wrong. Russia has a right to intervene in Eastern Ukraine because Eastern Ukraine is majority Russian. The Russian state exists primarily as a body that promotes and protects the best interests, security, and well being of Russian people. That's the primary role of Russian government. So it is in their interest to help Russians in Eastern Ukraine to...self actualize.

@Turkleton @poppinwillow Russia has a right to all the majority ethnic regions including what they've taken, Transnistria, and probably 2-3 provinces in northern Kazakhstan which are also majority Russian.
Whether they actually do that depends of the policies and circumstances in Kazakhstan. But they have the right.

@Turkleton @poppinwillow No. I'm saying Russia has a right to ethnic Russian lands. Israel is Jewish. It's ethnically Jewish. I'm happy that Russian Jews are going there in larger numbers.

@Owl @n8 I suspect the US is more deeply involved in Ukraine than anyone has publicly acknowledged. I know there are tens of thousands of US citizens fighting in Ukraines foreign legion, for one. And it would be impossible that the CIA or special forces aren't involved in directing that, organizing or even leading g that imo.
