The iPod touch was the first Apple product I bought with my own money in 2010. While there are many things I could say, I’ll just mention how cool these Flash-based web ads were for it.
(I’ll also mention that this was for my ninth birthday and I did not have a bank card, so the specialist had to count a bunch of loose change and singles up to $200 or whatever it was)
this is intended for the intersection on the #nyc and #tea venn diagram. if this does not apply to you, continue as you were.
alright now that they're gone, Kalustyan's (on Lexington) has such a killer assortment of teas. i was there this weekend and got a honey black tea flavored with bee pollen. it's delicious.
I was doing some spelunking while writing a design analysis thread for @lickability and discovered this nugget: this is what the Apple Music background motion looks like without the blur shader applied:
I’m excited to splurge on my first fancy TV as an adult with all the bells and whistles only to continue watching the local ABC news channel over an antenna. The Dolby Vision support really makes the 720p SDR broadcasts pop.
New change landing in Mastodon for Android soon! In user testing, people have expressed confusion over “why are all the handles so long?”
We're presenting handles on profile pages in a new style, with the username and server separated. Tapping the server will show you more details, along with a neat easter egg animation when you tap the rows.
i used my vision pro for the first time in a few days and after five minutes, remembered why i don't like using it. just opening a handful of safari tabs and thinking “oh wow i feel nothing inside”
no experience in the vision pro has come close to touching the pure ecstasy and joy i felt the first time i heard “I Don’t Want It At All” by Kim Petras. thanks i love you goodbye
no one asked but i’ve decided against getting a vision pro at least right now. it doesn’t seem like i can get work done w/ it, which is the only way i can justify spending that much.
i’m worried about ergonomics and the vast majority of apps seem to be lazily-ported ipad apps.
maybe in a few months when more developers can get their hands on the hardware and figure out its strengths but for now, it’s too early. even for me.
@Gargron The first gen has a recessed headphone jack, my only 3.5mm cable doesn’t fit! Apparently they did this because Jobs thought the headphone jack was ugly. I just ordered an adapter on ebay, I’m curious how the DAC is
@Gargron Though I am curious how many producers are considering how their mix sounds on phone speakers since it’s increasingly a common way people consume music. Via videos on social media and whatnot
we’ve got a week left of 2023 and I don't know how much longer Twitter will exist into 2024. so let's settle it once and for all and find the absolute best tweet of all time. one last hurrah for the posts that changed our cultural sense of humor before that platform atrophies into dust. https://thebesttweet.com
