@Gargron It looks like you got a shot of milkweed at the base of the tree. It’s a very important part of the ecosystem that supports the Monarch butterfly. A lot of folks in California are growing it gardens as a conservation effort. We currently have 3 pupae in our front yard (we’ll have several dozens by the end of summer).
