@ninavizz @aral in the US, it's not sufficient to simply earn enough to have housing/food security, since there's almost no safety net for anyone but rich people. If you want anything like real security in our society, you have to accumulate some amount of real wealth in case you, or someone you love, gets sick and can't work, for example.

No one cares you spent the money.
That same $15 on Bandcamp today, if spent on an indie artist? About $14.50 goes to the artist, and you might make their week.

Your streaming dollars DO NOT GO TO ARTISTS. They go to tech execs. Bandcamp dollars go to musicians.
Please share this widely, too many people STILL don't know that 99.999% of every dollar they spend on Spotify et al goes directly into a tech bastard's pocket.
