This is my one argument with you:

Who cares.

Tor needing funding is far more important than quibbling about how tor gets funding.

To me your concern is like complaining about the optics of the homeless collecting cans for redemption. Utterly ignoring why the homeless are collecting cans in the first place.

None of us are so precious as to look down our nose at funding sources. You give so I admire you for that. But I am giving you the honest criticism that tut tutting the source seems like quibbling.
