Every Democrat who tells you they have to reject wokeness or trans people or whatever to win elections is telling you straight up they're a fucking bigot.

There have always been anti-trans feminists, but they were largely irrelevant until they joined forces with the anti-abortion movement and other fascists in the US and UK, who have the wealth and media control to plaster their views all over the place, creating the fake impression of consensus on the issue.

The moral panic being pushed by anti-trans activists in the Guardian, the Atlantic, the New York Times, and now by the Trump campaign is fascist propaganda and always has been, and it connects deeply to other white supremacist obsessions like immigration, mass surveillance, police power, economic caste systems, and controlling women and women's reproductive ability.

For liberals to stand back and let them do it with minimal push back is tantamount to complicity.

You can always spot a shill because when you point out, e.g., how many children Israel has killed in the past year, they start arguing how "complicated" the situation is instead of expressing any form of sympathy or humanity.

Indeed, Democrats destroyed their largest national lobbying and GOTV operation, ACORN, in response to fake scandals created by known fraud James O'Keefe.

Since then, Democrats have largely abandoned certain states to Republicans, with Florida being one of the more recent examples.

Wisconsin only just rejected -- through the courts, not voting -- its extreme GOP gerrymander after 10 years of Republican dominance in which legislative elections were essentially irrelevant to the outcome.

Roughly half of US states are not democratic in the functional sense. This is particularly true in the South since the end of Reconstruction, but Republicans systematically spread it through the midwest with gerrymanders during the 2010 redistricting process (see REDMAP, aka the Redistricting Majority Project) and the unlimited spending benefits granted by Citizens United.

There has been no countervailing Democratic response.

People always ask, "Where are all the liberal billionaires?" And surprise! LOL. There aren't any.

You don't become a billionaire by having a deep respect for the law and other people's rights.

There are those that donate to Democrats, obviously, the kind who prop up soulless minions of orthodoxy like Gavin Newsom.

But they have no interest in undermining their own oligarchical power, let alone building a liberal media, and even less in the voting rights of ordinary people.

The US is not a civilized society. It's barely even a "developed" one. It's a handful of billionaires, twelve mega-corporations, a bunch of cops, and the most insanely powerful military in the world wearing a trench coat.

If you've ever wondered what "it's socialism or barbarism" means, just look at the US. America abandoned any pretense of civilization when it decided the rich and powerful could exempt themselves from laws, regulations, and any form of social responsibility even if it meant destroying the planet. Meanwhile, if you don't pay a $2.90 subway fare, the cops will shoot you in the head.

We don't do anything to stop climate change because it makes people who are already rich a lot of money.

That's it. That's the only reason.

Far too many white center-left people seem to think there's a common ground to be had with white conservatives-fascists that won't affect their personal rights and privileges. Because they're white. But the right actually has no interest in sparing you either. You have to suffer under their regime, too. Not as much as some people. But your life will not be the same. You will not be able to enjoy the things you do now. And if you don't comply, you may not have much of a life at all.

I'll accept not having my existence banned in the meantime, though, I guess.

If that's not asking too much.

What I want is a left that's happy to fight the culture war and the class war and drive all of these billionaires and theocrats and their sycophants into the sea once and for all.

The Democratic impulse to capitulate and beg for forgiveness and unity whenever anything bad happens to a Republican is really something, especially for marginalized people who can't even get the time of day from these people.

Upon finding out 99% of NYU protesters were indeed students, Republican Councilwoman Vickie Paladino decided they all have to die.

It feels like Democrats should stop helping these people in their war on students and higher education?

And I guess what all of this has revealed is the brokenness of our political culture and government, the corruption, and the extent of the apathy and contempt they have for ordinary people.

At every point in this system, there are veto points for preventing progress. But corruption and authoritarianism breeze right on through.

It's really reassuring having repeated confirmation that the ruling class and their courtiers in the media are mostly a bunch of unprincipled sociopaths who can't understand doing anything except for money and power.
