@LadyDragonfly As a lot of other Jewish people have said, we can call attention to the brutal treatment of trans people without drawing explicit comparisons to the Holocaust. I know you mean well but it's damaging.

@LadyDragonfly "They came for trans people first" is both not historically accurate and significantly downplays the fact they came for the Jews first and foremost. Other peoples' were targeted and slaughtered but this was a Jewish holocaust.

Anyway.

Nowhere did I deny what happened to LGBT+ people during the Holocaust. Indeed, they were the unfortunate victims as well as Jews and many others. If you read my posts as Holocaust denial that is quite the leap.

I do, however, take issue with the current trend of comparing genocidal actions toward trans people (which I believe are happening) with the actual actions of the Nazis during the Holocaust. But whatever, report away.

Today makes me wanna give up on social media.

@mariyadelano Because an earnest attempt to stand up for my people resulted in people hurling insults, assuming only ill intent, and straight up disgusting anti-semitism. Why bother.

They have since deleted this. But this is what Jewish people online deal with. The refusal to allow us to own our own story.
