@Undercity4 what country legally allows the sharing of CP? If AI content cannot be distinguished between what is real and what is generated, the laws apply all the same.

@Undercity4 hosting 3D renders with photorealistic AI faces meant to represent underage characters would threaten to make any place disappear regardless of the currency the site is beholden to. The dollar, the ruble or the yuan. None of it matters in the face of local laws, the jury and judge as they perceive content indistinguishable from CP.

If my stance against it implies that I am faltering in my support of freedom of expression, then so be it for self preservation and survival of baraag.

@jzinhere I’m afraid the freedom to evolve your 3D works with AI manipulated faces approaches the uncanny photorealism of actual child abuse content. I deleted those posts because I cannot keep baraag safe from being shut down if I host such media.

You may try your luck at hosting your own site and perhaps you will see just how hard it is to maintain a place that is truly free by your own standards before the plug is pulled from you.

@kradeelav no, it is fine. I don’t think subscribestar will respond regardless of public noise or any direct contact with them. I really appreciate the thought though.

I will make another fundraising announcement soon to highlight some other options to support baraag.

A week has passed since first emailing subscribestar support and they still have not replied to me. Here is an update based on what I can gather.

The main page cannot be publicly accessed. But this link seems to work: https://subscribestar.adult/baraag/subscribe

Only previous subscribers can renew/extend their support. Any new patrons attempting to subscribe will have their card declined.

With substar’s support for baraag becoming seemingly deprecated for future subscribers, I will test alternatives.

@Huburt_Pewder are you still able to re-subscribe to the baraag creator page?

It has come to my attention that subscribestar has possibly shut down our funding page after someone notified me that their auto-renewal support was cancelled yesterday.

It could be in error because I can still log-in and the person that let me know of this occurrence said they were able to renew again their subscription.

If you support baraag on subscribestar, can you check to see if it possible for you to renew your subscription?

@son_of_the_paladin yes, I ask that users go back and edit previous posts with unmarked NSFW as sensitive content.

@flashre I realize that standards for what counts as NSFW may vary from one person to the next, especially depending on where one works.

I would say if you feel like you wouldn’t expose a large printed poster of it to a child within the presence of a police officer in the bible belt region of America, than it would be better safe than sorry to mark it at sensitive content.

I know this rule will annoy a lot users here, but I hope people understand it is to keep baraag safe from being shut down

@furf it is only required for 3D rendered works featuring human loli/shota characters. As a courtesy to people that do not wish to see any 3D content at all and wish to filter it out in their settings, I do recommend broadly tagging all the same.

And just to clarify again the existing rules for tagging, please remember it is specifically required to tag for #3D #AI and #guro / #gore

Starting today, it is required that baraag users mark explicit NSFW uploaded art as sensitive content. Failure to do so may result in all posts from your account being automatically marked as sensitive regardless if it is explicit or not.

This is for liability reasons to ensure public viewers that aren’t logged into an account do not see adult content without first clicking through a warning that acknowledges agreement to our Terms of Service and being at least 18 years of age.

I apologize for the extended downtime experienced with baraag. Unrelated to the server maintenance done to successfully update the OS and Mastodon, we encountered sudden issues with memory that required us to yet again replace a faulty DIMM. Everything should be fine now.

With this update, we now have built in translation of text posts using LibreTranslate.
