Well, except for one (actually) tiny detail, ALL the "tech" people I follow are strongly and loudly worried about AI's dangers to human society, etc. The people described as "tech" people are just AIdolizers with AIdiotic public stances that may genuinely wreck everything, starting with the poorest and otherwise most vulnerable people.

Also, all the progress that we may have been, or intended to be, doing regarding decreasing energy consumption to save our livable habitat from being eradicated by climate change,
is currently being entirely wiped out by the new AI-farm server halls with VASTLY increased electricity consumption that recently have and will soon be built, to the point that they build entirely new power plants dedicated to just a server hall each because the general power grids can't handle their demands.

So yeah, it's not just the killing of art and trust in any remote human-to-human communication, experiences and education, but there's also pure survival as a species.

In Gaza, “we did not have time to bury them”

On the morning of 8 June, Israeli forces heavily bombed the Middle Area of the Gaza Strip, Palestine, including Al-Nuseirat refugee camp. These deadly Israeli attacks reportedly killed at least 270 Palestinians and left about 700 wounded, according to the local health authorities. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams, along with medical staff at Al-Aqsa and Nasser hospitals, treated hundreds of severely injured patients, many of whom were women and children.

One of our colleagues, who has been working as a medical doctor with MSF since 2013 and lives in Al-Nuseirat camp, recalls that horrific and traumatising day when he lost many of his friends and neighbours. He has asked to remain anonymous.

The people of Iran's fireworks celebrating the potential demise of President Raisi of Iran continue.

Heavy rain continues in the area of Varzaqan, East Azerbaijan province of NW Iran, where President Raisi may have been killed in a helicopter crash.

Aryen TV reports that Iranian media has claimed that parts of the helicopter have been found, but that the Red Crescent search and rescue workers have denied that claim citing very poor conditions for searches due to the heavy rain.
