This is something people have always hated about localizers. Before it was widely understood as a political, really a deeply spiritual battle, anyone with a sense of aesthetics nevertheless had disdain for this sort of behavior.

I get the value of rhetoric like this but they had been censoring raunchy DQ designs for years. DQ8 3DS is an early example, but anyone who cared just patched it, which was mandatory anyway to restore the orchestrated bgm.
