@aral I am sure we can. And I love the optimism. But the pessimist in me says "it won't matter because we are few and they are many" and that's (sadly!) that. 😞

I have made up my mind: There's no point to technology anymore. Planes are falling apart or out of the sky; space tech is so shitty they can't bring their people back; cars are driving "smart" circles around each other, honking at random; nobody even remembers what a paper trail was good for; systems are explicitly designed to NOT be serviced, ever; the internet is being flooded with useless junk, no end in sight; and the globe is burning while the bros are training. Fuck this shit. I am out.

User actions

I like old games and old computers. I dig free software and free culture. And I believe that people, not organizations, have inalienable rights.I used to work on programming languages and compilers. I used to teach everything from intro programming through video game design to operating systems. I even won a teaching award. I worked at a game studio for a while, but these days I do Linux-based storage systems for money.I do not speak for any of my employers and they do not speak for me.
