  Steamlyannaya Hamonika (1968) depicts the isolation and brutalization of humans in modern bourgeois society. Although being broadly in line with other art-as-propaganda of the era, censors felt it could easily be read as a criticism of the party, leaving this subversive short as the only animated film to be banned in the Soviet Union.

@Misato it's sad to see anyone in that state, but if we're having a competition of whose country is the worst, Canada is going to win every time.

in the city I grew up in (not the one I live in currently), the downtown looks worse than Shinjuku. it only has a population of 135k, and like I said that's a **nice** city by Canadian standards.

  Before the Pandemic, the Vancouver Downtown Eastside had faced many problems, including drug use, crime, poverty, homelessness, mental illness, vandalism and other problems. These problems have affected people in this area for many decades. Since the Pandemic, the situation has gotten much worse. Recently, more homeless people are living in an area where businesses are located. Tell me what you think about the problems in the Downtown Eastside. Why is it happening? Who is responsible? Does this homeless problem exist in the area where you live? What can be done to solve these problems? Have you worked and lived in this area? I would be happy to hear your thoughts and comments. Recent reviews on Tripadvisor have been really negative about our city of Vancouver. People are advising tourist to avoid different areas of the city, including Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside nearby. "You have walking dead roaming the streets", agrees Jordan Eng, with one of the reviews on Tripadvisor, who compared people in the area to the "walking dead". Jordan Eng is the president of Chinatown BIA. In my video, I'm saying the Pandemic has made the situation worse. I'm not saying the Pandemic has caused the problems.

@Misato It was the same thing here, and worse. We not only had to wear a mask, we had to be vaccinated to do all of that.

On top of that we have a crisis of homelessness and drug abuse. This winter I read a story about dysentery causing bacteria spreading in homeless encampments. We have tent cities, in a country where it can get down to -40 Celsius even in some highly populated urban areas. Oregon Trail type shit smh.
