@arstechnica just "aquire" your music and host it on a navidrome or jellyfin server. You probaly don't even need to bother with making your server accessible from outside your local network if you cache your music on your phone, and even if you need access it's very easy with a simple wireguard script or tailscale.

AirVPN only costs 99€ for 3 years.

If you aren't experienced with computers I would suggest jellyfin with tailscale on windows; they are very beginner-friendly tools.

@eff I's absolutely crazy that laws that were made for an age where to wiretap someone you needed to actual tap a wire are still in effect to this day.
