@aral damn. I remembered reading somewhere that the sentiment was starting to shift away from that after the elections earlier this year. Unfortunate.

@BE @maleve a cousin of mine is a reporter for an agriculture journal and they've basically already given up on reining in any contagion, from what I've heard. He acknowledged the species-jumping bird flu is a looming concern to the (predominantly MAGA aligned) ag sector, but in the same breath stated, "You'll just get it like you did COVID, nothing will change" and that's the end of it.
