Some quick updates on the catalog: One circle (Udon-ya) has unfortunately withdrawn submission due to time constraints. One new late-entry circle (Legless_debil) has been added. And one circle (アルカディアの牧童) has added their onion address to the catalog.

Nothing has changed about the event schedule itself. Onionket 5 will be this coming weekend, August 19th and 20th. The Onionket 5 Official Livestream will be Saturday August 19th from 2pm to 4pm, and again from 9pm to 11pm JST.

Onionket: the Darknet Anti-Censorship Art Festival (prominently featuring XMR)

I'm the organizer of an event called "Onionket" (or "Onion Comic Market"). Onionket is a decentralized, censorship-resistant online doujin/art festival hosted exclusively in the Dark Web. Our goal is to provide artists with a simple, free, and censorship-resistant way to both share their work and receive support from their fans (if they want to). The event centers around using a software called OnionShare (www.onionshare.org) to easily create a simple .onion website to host and display one's work, plus any wallet addresses/QR codes/support links desired. The event then publishes a catalog advertising and linking to each artist's site.

We also host a Tor instance of a Fediverse software called "Mitra", which has several useful features that allow it to be used as an XMR-powered Patreon for artists. While the OnionShare sites only last the two days of the event, all participating artists are invited to create accounts on the Mitra server to share their work in the long term, and for fans to follow or subscribe to them using Monero.

Any artists in the Monero community interested in participating, you're more than welcome to apply. And any XMR users, we'd be happy to have you as viewers and general participants. Notice: At present, the Onionket Mitra server on Tor has 10 Artist accounts with full posting privileges, and 16 Read-Only Fan accounts. Performance and response has been positive enough that I'd like to open the door to new Artist accounts beyond just Onionket participants. This has been reflected in the instance's About page, as well as the Mitra information pages on the various Onionket websites:

というわけで、オニオンケットに参加するかどうか、大小にもかかわらず、ネット上に作品を投稿するアーティストたちは自由にアーティストアカウントをオニオンケットスタッフに申請できます。確かに長期的に見ると、各アーティストまたはアーティストのグループが自分のMitraインスタンスを作ることを促したい。ただし短期的には自分のサーバーを管理したくないそれともできない方のためにオニオンケットMitraは実験場として役に立つでしょう。

@silverpill Performance wise, everything went smooth. Opened up Read-Only account registration as the event started, and got several takers. Tested out XMR subscription live on stream successfully.

I'm planning to gather feedback now that the event has wound down, I'll get back to you with comments once I've got them.
