djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Friday, 03-Feb-2023 15:11:18 JST djsumdog Didn't Sisko accidentally get the actual hero killed and have to take his place to continue the timeline? (which begs the question, how could they tell back in the future he replaced the guy? .. it would have been him all along from their perspective) -

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 02-Feb-2023 14:06:07 JST djsumdog Dude had a heart of gold ... even if you don't get the CIA/glowies things, anyone should be able to see he was intelligent and a kind, troubled soul .. the Daniel Johnson of computer science ... -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 02-Feb-2023 05:13:50 JST djsumdog Interesting. That looks very SNES/Genesis ... there appears to be a PC port too, but I guess that's one where it doesn't really matter which system you get it for. It should be identical.
I kinda prefer the kinda "fake" retro look of Katana ZERO or Hotline Miami (looks retro but no actual way it could be ported to an SNES). I also worry about these games being stupid hard. I can deal with Katana ZERO hard, but not Hyperlight Drifter hard. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 02-Feb-2023 04:35:07 JST djsumdog Makes me think of old Apogee games ... although the graphics don't look all that great, even for the retro look -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 02-Feb-2023 00:40:56 JST djsumdog There was a news story about a dog in Seattle who'd ride the bus on his own. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 22:39:12 JST djsumdog I doubt he'll run. There's a lot he wants to do in Florida and running would kill that momentum and cut his term.
I doubt there will be another Trump. The establishment was so oblivious they didn't see him as enough of a threat to control the elections like they always do. The idea that we've ever had truly free elections in America is a joke. JFK was a stolen election, but he turned out to be not all that corrurpt and a decent guy, so his own CIA, led by people like Prescot Bush and others, shot him eight times and convinced the world it was one guy.
Whoever wins 2024 will be hand picked. If trump actually gets through the primaries (and a lot of republicans are weary because he won't admit his biggest mistake: Operation Warp speed and the deadly experimental drugs) ... that could be interesting, only because I don't think the nation will stand for another stolen election. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 22:39:10 JST djsumdog I wonder if they even understand they stood up a propaganda machine or honestly think they "check facts" ... I don't blame Google/Facebook/CNN/Fox/BBC ... I blame the people who keep watching them and don't question the nature of their reality. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 22:39:08 JST djsumdog I've been called a Conspiracy Theorist a lot in real life as of late ... funny how that term was made popular by CIA propaganda -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 12:51:10 JST djsumdog I do remember Simcity .. and Simant .. and Sim Tower ... I played a lot of Sierra games .. Space Quests, Kings Quests, Police Quests .. plus there were PC ports of Moral Kombat I/II/III .. the early FMV stuff like Rebel Assault I/II... and the space sims: Wing commander II, III, IV, Prophecy -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 12:36:05 JST djsumdog I never had any consoles growing up, just computers .. but at my friends I played NES/SNES/Gensis. PS1 was like high school era. Post University I was hacking old PSPs ... I guess they were older than I thought ... I borrowed a co-worker/intern's PS2 in exchange for doing homework for him (he was dropping out of Computer Science and needed help saving this GPA. I was a poor grad student). The first console I actually owned (before the PSP) was a Wii. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 12:27:41 JST djsumdog How the hell is a PSP "Early Zoomer" ... like they were 5 years old and got an obsolete hand-me-down by a sibling? -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 07:14:07 JST djsumdog It's not really the smartphone. The idea of abstracting the details of the filesystem started with Windows Vista/7/8 and macOS around the same era. It would have made sense if everything really flipped to not being a real file system (I think that was one of the ideas behind the failed WinFS), but instead the default UI for every desktop and phone operating system just gives you a super limited subset of a filesystem and obscures full paths and where everything actual is. -
djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 31-Jan-2023 01:48:00 JST djsumdog Yes, multiple ARM vendors that all require custom kernels and none of which boot mainline or require some weird fucked up Device Tree. Any ARM SoC vendors out there support UEFI, besides the old Microsoft devices with locked bootloaders? -

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Thursday, 26-Jan-2023 13:26:28 JST djsumdog I've sent project Veritas stuff to friend and get back "It says they edit things deceptively"
"First, that's false. Second, tell me what context the Chicago school teacher could be put in, when he's talking about teaching high school students about anal toys, that would justify it?"
After some back and fourth, she agreed that students shouldn't be taught this without parental consent.
