GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 17-Oct-2023 04:12:40 JST GabeLakmann Definitely, I have noticed that and didn't honestly figure that it would be that way initially. There is a big monoculture for a lot of things but there are so many damn TV shows and streaming services that I don't even bother keeping up with that type of thing, of course I never was much for watching TV or movies anyways so it's really no different I guess. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 17-Oct-2023 02:12:20 JST GabeLakmann Winchester makes nice ones but for the money the Marlin 336 is hard to beat. I've heard they're not as good as they used to be though so maybe try and find an older used one from the 80s/90s or earlier.
The Ubertis are decent too from what some of the "cowboy action" people have said.
If you have the money, the "color case hardened" stuff looks awesome. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 14:12:50 JST GabeLakmann Ah, yeah, you're right. I knew some people who had 100 guns but none of them were very nice. Lots of cheapass ARs too. Most of them with either cheap optics and lights (like UTG/amazon/wish tier stuff or worse) if they had any at all.
I don't get it. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 14:12:48 JST GabeLakmann I thought about it for a bit and figured out that I'd only ever NEED like 6-7 different ones (if they weren't so dang loud that is). And then maybe exact copy backups of some of them or all of them if I had the money because "2 is 1, and 1 is none" afterall.
A concealed carry piece like a G43
A full size pistol or near full size pistol like a G19
A .22lr pistol such as the FN 502
A .22lr rifle like a 10/22 take down model or Smith and Wesson MP 15-22
A semi-auto shotgun, preferably something like a Benelli M4
A pump action shotgun like a Mossberg 500/590 that you could swap barrels around for hunting and tactical use
An AR-15 or AK-47 type rifle
An AR-10/HK-416/SCAR-H semi-auto .308
A Remington 700 style in something like .300 win mag for longer range stuff
A .357 magnum revolver
And that is about all I can think of to be able to cover all of your needs, at least in the Americas anyways. Add a big game double barrel rifle if you live in africa. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 12:50:46 JST GabeLakmann What do you mean by 20-500?
And I totally agree. For 9mm you can buy the G19 and G43 and not need to mess with any of their other 9mm versions. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 12:12:43 JST GabeLakmann Long slide short grip makes more sense but they're both stupid. You want a long enough grip that your pinky isn't hanging off and a slide at least as long as the grip so it doesn't look stupid. Aside from that a long slide doesn't mean as much on pistols. The sight radius is slightly longer and you get a negligible increase in velocity but you're better off with a shorter slide if you run optics because it recoils a little quicker and gets your sight picture back a little sooner.
I've noticed that over the last 5-10 years a lot of people have gotten into firearms and automobile hobbies and most of them have shit taste and modify things for looks only without putting practicality first so that explains a lot of the stupid stuff going on. -

I learned that lesson the hard way. Or soft way.. whatever. -

GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 11:22:20 JST GabeLakmann "BronzeAgeHogCranker"
That name earns a follow from me. I'd have probably spelled it Hogg or Hawg but it is still funny. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 11:13:34 JST GabeLakmann That's one of the things I always liked about America is that there is a natural desire to rebel against the power structures. Or used to be anyways...
I'm sure they'll stop telling the history of the founding of this country at some point soon to stop children from getting that idea in their heads. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 11:05:18 JST GabeLakmann It's funny because indians and chinese worship jews and yet they hate each other. Maybe they're fighting to be the #1 goy? -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 16-Oct-2023 11:01:00 JST GabeLakmann Weird how they're supposed to be so smart and yet the only thing they've invented is antibiotic resistant bacteria from being so disgusting and not following basic hygiene and sanitation practices.
It's really telling that they get a large chunk of income from scamming old people with diminished mental faculties that are only slightly lower than they are at their very best. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 15-Oct-2023 13:05:48 JST GabeLakmann There is always something you can do to set yourself apart from them though. There might always be someone out there who is better than you at some specific thing but no one has the same combination of strengths (and weaknesses too for that matter) that you do. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 15-Oct-2023 12:13:35 JST GabeLakmann I see what you're saying but he's usually just trying to motivate the really "blackpilled" guys into not giving up so his intentions are good and it seems like it helps some guys.
Usually women talk about their problems and don't really want solutions/advice as they're just trying to vent about it and sometimes guys do it too but not often enough that we assume that they're just wanting to talk about it and not fix it or whatever. It's hard to tell when other guys are just venting so you try and offer advice that they didn't explicitly ask for and I think that's what you're getting at, isn't it? -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 15-Oct-2023 12:08:18 JST GabeLakmann For sure, just as long as you don't give up it'll all work out in the long run.
I like dating women closer to my age because of having more things in common but lately I like them a bit younger because they haven't usually made as many big mistakes in their lives. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 15-Oct-2023 11:55:58 JST GabeLakmann It was kinda funny except for the fact that he's a lot better than andrew tate. In fact, just about everyone I've chatted with on he is a lot better. I still laughed though. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Saturday, 14-Oct-2023 18:33:00 JST GabeLakmann Whenever I need a new slur or racial epithet (I like calling them racial epitaphs) I just "google" the term "racial slurs" and find all kinds of great stuff.
I've found racial slurs for races I didn't even know existed.
Really makes me sad for the younger folks who use the internet for Tik Tok when they could be using it to find new racial slurs.
Why is it even called a slur anyways? Is it because after a few drinks people start dropping "N-bombs" (saying the word NIGGER) or something? -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 20-Aug-2023 00:36:19 JST GabeLakmann That's exactly my opinion for tire size and what I've seen as far as breakage goes too.
I ran the equivalent of 31.5"/32" tires on a half ton SUV 4x4 and if you get good tires they'll do everything you need and still be practical for the 90% of the time you aren't off roading. Probably closer to 95%/99% for a lot of people. I like having mud tires though because I know I can get out of a jam easier than if I had regular tires. They do decent enough on the snow too although all-terrains do better.
If they had lockers and/or a winch they probably wouldn't have broken anything.
For ring and pinion gears I think I'd want to have somewhere around a 4:1 ratio with 35" tires, slightly higher with 37" tires, and then have the transmission geared to compensate.
A long time ago I learned that Porsche and Mercedes usually stay around 3:1 with their axle gears and gear the transmissions different because the ring and pinion gears are stronger that way. -
GabeLakmann (gabelakmann@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Sunday, 20-Aug-2023 00:35:19 JST GabeLakmann That's what I was trying to tell him but I think he was thinking we were talking about a 1500 since some or all of what he was saying is right about those.
