Vans are cool. You can find a used one with a 7.3L diesel sometimes for reasonable prices and have it converted to a 4x4 by U-Joint Offroad which I hear does as good or better work than Sportsmobile.
Those are awesome too. One of the few Chevy products I like. I actually almost got a K-2500 with the old diesel but they're not turbo diesels and they're kinda hard to find parts for so I was wanting one with a 400 small block or something more common.
It'd be really cool to swap a Duramax and Allison into one of those. I know there are probably a lot of LS swaps in them but something that big needs torque. A turbocharged or whipplecharged LS would probably be alright if it was 6.0L or bigger though.
The movie "Dante's Peak" is what made me like them a lot. The bumper and winch, snorkel, lights, etc. are awesome.
Some of the old Chevy/GMC trucks and blazers used in the military are cool too.
That's pretty much exactly how I feel about it too.
The 1st gen Cummins are pretty simple and VERY reliable but the rest are just reliable and that's if you're lucky. The 6.9L Cummins or whatever the 24v second gen are make great power but like you say, the newer diesels are pretty complicated and VERY expensive.
Plus you have the retard "bros" who think rolling coal is so cool..they're the main reason why the tuners and stuff are getting banned by the EPA.
Especially when they were made back when 55mph was the sweet spot to gear for due to regulations.
People drive a lot faster now than they probably should and I like being able to pass people who are doing 80+ mph and on their cell phone at the same time.
Offensive driving has kept me out of accidents way more than defensive driving would have. After all, if you think someone might wreck, do you want to be in front of them or behind them when they wreck?
For lower speed stuff and 4x4 low range they'd all be fine but to keep up with traffic these days you'd definitely want a 5.3L or 6.0L with a turbo and some good brakes as well.
The only way I'd ever use a 4.3L v6 in a 2500 series is if it had a turbocharger. The 3.8L engines with a factory supercharger are good swaps for smaller stuff like jeeps but for a 2500 series suburban that is essentially a brick when it comes to aerodynamics, like you mentioned, you're going to want somewhere around 300rwhp and 350ftlbs of torque if not more these days.
It's easier to find an LS now than a 4.3L v6 anyways so I don't know why you would go out of your way to swap a v6 into a vehicle where the smallest engine was a 350 unless you already had one that was bored and stroked and had a turbo or something.
Yep, people put 35" tires on something like that and then abuse it and wonder why it broke.
For something street driven like the build I'm talking about I'd probably run 35" tires since they're more common, maybe 37" tires now that they're popular. I'd pick something that you could find a spare for in any small or medium sized town on short notice and I'd still carry two spares anyways.
For my last few 4x4s I've carried two full sized spares and just rotated them in and out of use so they wear evenly and so that I don't end up with a nice looking spare that is dry rotted from being in the sun and never being used.
Believe it or not, using locking differentials helps reduce breakage too since it spreads power and traction out more evenly and reduces "shock loading" as well, which is what usually causes breakage in stuff like that. Not saying I'd spend $1,000 on an ARB air locker or Eaton E-locker for a wimpy factory differential though.
And I agree with what Carl said in this article or whatever it is but I'm not real big on him otherwise. I don't think he is as smart as people give him credit for and if he would've kept his atheism out of stuff instead of pushing it so often I'd enjoy a lot more of his content.
He's jewish though, so either atheism or judaism was a given since they always choose one of the main religions that hate God.
I have NEVER understood how so many "scientists" can claim to be atheists. Agnostic I could understand but it is very pretentious and foolish to say for certain there is no creator when you don't even know for certain how the universe was formed and who or what created the starting matter or energy to kick off the big bang.
Most of them seem to be either strongly atheist or strongly religious. I can understand the agnostic and strongly religious ones but part of science is asking questions and so far there is not proof that there is or isn't a God (in their opinion, in my opinion I think that just existing is proof of a creator of some sort) so that question hasn't been answered scientifically and the fact that something exists instead of nothing points to a creator of some sort.
I think people who are licensed to teach could make money tutoring homeschooled children on subjects their parents can't teach them.
You could have them meet at their church or local library or something once a week and tutor them for 8 hours and meet with a different group each weekday and make good money.
I've actually considered doing this myself. You'd be appreciated more and probably make better money too, I'm sure. The benefits might not be as good and retirement might not be as good but you can't count on retirement these days anyhow and the better pay would compensate for benefits I'd think.
I've told several guys that. It's easy to do and pays fairly decent with summers off, plus they'd have a good chance at meeting a single female teacher.
You like history/math/science/whatever, want to find a wife, want an easier job with decent pay, and want to make a positive difference in the future of our people then that is an excellent opportunity to do so.
As things get worse they'll get more support from the parents too. A lot more parents stood up against the drag queer story time stuff than I thought.
That's true but if you apply in "better school districts" and by that I mean majority/super majority White areas you'll have a lot better chance of not working with trouble making shit heads. Even those districts are kinda hurting for teachers these days.
One has codeine, the other has DXM which is garbage for the most part. It's hard to take enough DXM to notice anything and there is a hangover that goes with it.
Codeine is just a weak opiate. A whole bottle of cough syrup is probably equivalent to 4-5 hydrocodone.
Rappers bragging about either are foolish and have caused a lot of people to get hooked on opiates since a bottle of cough syrup that costs $5-$10 to fill goes for $100 or more sometimes according to what I've read when I looked up what the hell "lean" was.
I always thought "lean" was so gay. A whole bottle of real cough syrup isn't even that strong and they take a little bit and mix it with sprite and candy instead of chugging it and washing it down with something.
The people who think mixing robotussin with that crap are even worse.
Just start talking to women and being around women more and it will work out.
Not every encounter will be successful but you'll never hit a home run if you don't step up to the plate and take a swing. Don't be afraid of striking out either, it's still better than looking back and wondering what might have happened if you had said something instead of doing nothing.
I'd rather go without than do stuff like that too. I have had "one night stands" before but I prefer being in a relationship over that. It's better sex anyways usually.
