I guess their latest foray into Dragonlance is a trash fire, too. 5e doesn't have a system to handle mass combat, so Wizards is selling a board game to simulate it. Now you have to play a board game for one aspect of a campaign and pen and paper for the other. -

I liked how GW1 handled merging TCG and RPG systems myself, I think there's a lot that could be done with a system similar to that where you collect skills and use them to customize how your character plays in various situations -

@ArdainianRight We're going to reach a noticeable natural resource depletion at some point in the near future and it should be all hands on deck to get to the stars. Instead we're worried about feel-goodsy first-X-to-do-Y "accomplishments" and chasing easy profits rather than actually bettering humanity. Yes, we're in a bit of a technological lull, and while I do think AI will have an impact, I think it'll be much like the iPhone, where it's not one that actually improves our lives or furthers us as a people.
Kids wanting to grow up to be Mr. Beast rather than Neil Armstrong really doesn't help, either. -
