Far-right Israeli Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, yesterday urged Israel to impose “ entire civil management of the Gaza Strip,” and announced plans to reduce humanitarian aid to the bare minimum mandated by international law once US President-elect Donald Trump takes office later this month.

Smotrich also emphasised the term “occupation”, stating: “Yes, occupation, we don’t need to be afraid of this word.”

Germany on Friday expressed dismay over a Human Rights Watch report which accused Israel of committing “acts of genocide” in Gaza by deliberately depriving Palestinian civilians there of adequate access to water

The Israeli army was behind one-third of all unnatural journalist deaths globally in 2024, according to a report released Thursday by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

The RSF's annual report on the state of press freedom highlighted the alarming risks faced by journalists worldwide. It revealed that 550 journalists were detained, 55 held hostage, and 95 reported missing this year.

Rights groups challenging the UK government over weapons sales to Israel say they are seeking a court order to halt all arms exports after the ICC issued arrest warrants.

In a letter sent on Monday, the Palestinian human rights organisation Al-Haq and the UK-based Global Legal Action Network (Glan) warned the British government that it is "now arming suspected war criminals who have been indicted by the world’s pre-eminent criminal court".

Last week, the State of Israel hung the scalp of another Palestinian community on its belt after completing the demolition of Umm Al-Hiran.

On Nov. 14, hundreds of police stormed the Bedouin village accompanied by special forces officers and helicopters.

Israeli forces injured one of the only journalists left in north Gaza on Tuesday in an airstrike, after the military publicly threatened the Al Jazeera reporter with assassination in October.

The journalist, Hossam Shabat, said that he was “deliberately targeted” by Israeli forces when they carried out a seeming double tap strike — an illegal practice under international law — on a house late Tuesday night. Shabat was injured in the strike.

On Thursday, Israeli forces struck what was, just days ago, northern Gaza’s last fully operational hospital, destroying a cache of UN-delivered medical supplies.

Palestinian officials reported that the Israeli planes bombed the third floor of Kamal Adwan Hospital on Thursday morning.

Israel could kill everyone left in Northern Gaza if its assault on the enclave continues, a United Nations relief official warned on Saturday.
