@satori I mean it sounds like a different sort of compromise could be reached if say porn could be uncensored but loli/shota content couldn't be sold openly anymore.
Like the content itself wouldn't be illegal, just the selling of it in normal bookstores. It would be confined to specialty shops and certain websites.
It'd be something nobody would be truly happy with, but everyone could live with it.

@satori @Essiecks Don't Japan's censorship laws have their origins in rules the US forced on them ages ago?
Like before WWII even, around the time we forced them to open trade with us back in the 19th century?
