I've been daily driving @kde on a Surface Laptop Go for just under a week now, and I gotta say, this is the best KDE experience I've ever had.

It turned this laptop from a hot and slow machine that froze up constantly (under GNOME) to a snappy and really enjoyable machine.

I don't know what happened between October and now, but KDE has gotten significantly more usable for me, good job KDE devs, can't wait for 6.0

also holy crap the @kde community is so nice. I had to go find a KDEr to be on a panel and was greeted with nothing but kindness and excitement, if anyone's winning it's them

I blame garbage collection for lockups and lag spikes on GNOME, it happens periodically and momentarily freezes or lags out the device. most of the time they recover, but occasionally it'll fully lock up an especially busy or low powered laptop, this never happened before 44 so I have no idea what changed
