"just ordinary #policemen who actually were raised before the hitler youth"
"it's not like these men didn't suffer like they were suffering terribly they were physically ill they were vomiting they were they were tearing themselves apart psychologically you know but they didn't quit"
Like many countries, #Germany has seen a #solar power boom lately. Much of that's from large solar farms with hundreds of PV panels. But rooftop solar and so-called "balcony power plants" are also surging. The government today agreed several measures to make that even easier.
One of the measures in the "solar package" raises the maximum wattage balcony PV inverters can feed into the home grid to 800W from currently 600W. These will also no longer have to be registered with grid operators. 1/3
Khrystyna and Svitlana were singing in the street in Zaporizhzhia an hour before a Russian missile strike on the city, and this video of them was filmed.
One of them died yesterday at the site of the strike. She was 19 years old. The other girl died in the ICU today. She was 21.
Twitter is now having trouble paying some employees on time
Twitter staff in the UK received an email just before 1 pm London time on November 25 telling them their pay date would be November 28. Alongside the email, sent from the #EMEA Payroll Team, staff received their usual monthly payslips. However, staff in the #UK and #Germany appear not to have been paid on time.
Today in democratic country: People make use of their freedom-of-speech by waivig a flag of an antidemocrat whose oppresive politics have little to no direct effect on their lives celebrating yet another phase of an unwindling antodemocratic spiral some 3000 km far away.
The Constitutional Court of the Federal Republic of #Germany has ruled back in 2008 that the #integrity and #confidentiality of (our personal) #computers is indeed a constitutionally guaranteed right.
The ruling seems to emphasize limits on acute or punctual infiltration rather than stopping the systemic weakening of the infrastructure by laws that demand #backdoors, access and #coercion of administrators;
But AFAIK, it still lends support to the goal to #ProtectTheStack at all levels.
One of my favourite things to post are inspiring before-and-after photos of transformed urban places. They often speak for themselves…except what you can’t tell from the after-photos is that vehicle traffic often actually gets BETTER. This one of #Dusseldorf#Germany’s waterfront comes from @iamcais. #cities. #waterfront#urbanism#freeways#transportation#cars
I am a professor of #economics, esp. #publicfinance at the #KU Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in #Ingolstadt in Southern #Germany . Most of my research is about #taxes, esp. corporate taxation and tax evasion. I'll toot about tax policy and economic policy more generally, about academia, and being a mom in academia.
I'm part of the #twittermigration and curious to see where all of this heading.
