@kkarhan @Hyolobrika yeah I think competency tests are a good thing, but when the state is in control of licensing they can take your access away for other unrelated reasons (ex possession of illicit substance) or just be a disorganized mess and make acquiring a license more about following administrative procedure than making sure you are actually competent/proficient. I think these things should fall on parents and maybe be part of the process of ensuring you are releasing an adult into society. Like maybe up until you are an adult your parents can decide when you can drive but you fuck up and its on them.
