   For what it’s worth, even our local city-contracted tech recycler offers secure destruction of data. They take possession and attest to its destruction when completed. (They’re insured or bonded or whatever.)

     @Benhm3 @angelastella so, fun fact about that: I bought some computers from an electronics flea market that turned out to have a bunch of Berkeley college data on them. It turns out the college had licensed one of those tech recyclers to securely destroy the data... and they didn't. They just resold the systems (hard drives included) to weirdos like me.
