I think I've figured out what's happening and why I have no energy or motivation all of a sudden despite being in my absolute peak shape again.
My body in the time it took me to get back to peak shape has gotten used to this level of calories (since I've been eating at a very consistent small deficit level) and in order to maintain mass it's decided to set this as my new maintenance level rather than lose weight so it's reduced my baseline energy expenditure. So I'd either have to cut down my calories further to get leaner or eat more to have energy but gain weight- otherwise I think this will continue.
