   @d0c40r0 @Sui @feralphilosophernc @Solbera It's so cringedumb to hear them say that, totally gives it away that they're setting their kids up to fail.

   "oh I'll never let my kids have a phone"

   "but all their friends & family have a drawer full of older ones they don't have the heart to throw away, so they'll have a phone you don't know about"

   "no they wouldn't do that"

     that's what my dad did, I just got better at avoiding the spyware

     first tech I had was a flip phone, also had occasional access to an old iphone 1 that was only able to play this one tank game (pretty much pocket tanks but it was cooler and had flight of the valkyries playing), we also had a computer in a room that I was allowed access to if I did exercise and was only in there for however long my dad told me I could be (usually 1-2 hours)
     
     it's certainly possible to make the same thing happen for my kids it's just going to need to take discipline from my woman and myself

     Harder you push, the harder they'll rebel. Probably better off letting them have tech, but load it up with parental spyware so you can keep tabs.

     @d0c40r0 @Sui @feralphilosophernc @Solbera It remains to be seen how doable that is though. Evidently we're the only generation to get that sweet spot - we had to learn how to operate these systems to a highly technical level (comparitive to the avg normie) in order to do what we wanted.

     Kids weaned with an ipad in their hands? They seem entirely incapable of anything more complex than "fake calculator app to hide nudes" or "drafts"
