So I came a across an evolution of the fabled 20 years old "The Japanese says the English dubs are good", which as far as I'm aware, it's fucking Cowboy Bebop again
This time it's "Some Japanese on Twitter made some Lycoris Recoil dub clip viral and they seemed positive about it"
The thing they don't understand with this argument is that the Japanese users don't have to care beyond a "oh, I guess that's cool" thing. Unless they're massive westaboos that consume western translated media in their language that understands the fundamental issue, which may not even have the issue we have here
Even if they did watch some dubs some help learn English or something, in the end, they don't have to get emotionally invested in the translation part of things because it's literally not their problem, they can just go watch the original version and that's it. They won't instantly be aware of 30 years of terrible localization, terrible dubs, weird nonsense censorship, etc. They don't have to interact with it as more than a novelty
