     For gifts, I usually just ask people what they want unless I can think of something.
     Specifically, I am looking for parts for a new computer and I don't know how to judge what I need/want for what I'm going to use it for. I have never really paid much attention to hardware.

     @Hyolobrika gotcha. Yeah picking hardware can be a little difficult if you aren't quite sure what you will be doing with the computer. I haven't bought any new computers in quite a while myself. I am getting a framework laptop next year, and I'm going to help someone who wants to build a gaming computer, but we'll basically spec it to what the games he plays which will usually list minimum and opimal requirements.
