     We'd need a more engineered version.

     It's what Tim Berners-Lee (Solid) and Curtis Yarvin (Urbit) are trying to reinvent, just geekily.

     Xanadu+: everyone has their own instance and downloads all other traffic, which is encrypted and stored locally.

     Given how cheap drives are getting, this seems more and more likely...

     @errante @amerika it is but the apps that are being built right now are social and payment apps. but other new interesting things re being built too, like a desktopsharing network app collaboration suite
