@jihadjimmy @meso If you're actually smart, you realize that a good heuristic for the software you should be using is the common subset of software that exists, is used, and is trusted between trans people, internet racists, and pedophiles.

How to keep all annoying retards away.
1. Make trans rights statement to keep 4chan niggerposters away.
2. Balance it by keeping annoying PR NPCs and mastodongers/twittertards away by being hostile every time they inevitably say something stupid or delusional.
3. Success.

@meso probably the most rent free thing I've seen for quite a while

@mischievoustomato @meso @thegreatape They can see basically anything you watch and anything you search for, including you subscriptions if you have an account there. That's just the nature of the Internet and how it works.
Source: I run a private Invidious instance.
I would be much more concerned about the lengths the site owners go to provide secure instances. For example, I can trust yewtu.be more, because it's run by one of the Invidious maintainers, than invidious.slipfox.xyz, which is run by an underage furry, that gets triggered every time you mention he runs Windows. Another great example of servers run by incompetent people is femboys.love. They got completely owned in the matter of days.

i guess they suspect those instances data mine you thru other efforts. you connect to them after all. I think it's something that ould be possible, but, would said people actually really care? It's not exactly data that they can sell. At the very best they could go after people that search stuff they don't like, but depending on *who* uses it, it could get messy.

I hate annoying trannies as much as the next person - but how the hell is invidious data mining you? The person who owns the server might know an ip address made a search? IDK I don't care if the people who make/run software support lgbt people. In fact I hope they do. I relish in the thought of knowing that THEY are supporting ME with their code.
