     @a1ba maybe they do font rendering with GL? i have no idea. i thought apple hated GL (looking at Metal etc etc)

     this is such a baroque way of engineering... meanwhile i can just edit shared text files easily with any text editor on any platform via ssh(fs) or webdav or similar, and it requires vastly less resources and performs better
