@Pawlicker Meanwhile I've installed Longhorn 4074 on that crappy Celeron M laptop for no reason. Runs like shit, wonder if early post-reset builds will be any better. At least Aero works on old XPDM driver.

@mint @Pawlicker shit, you can still use internet with that thing? I thought it'd scream "insecure" at your face
-
@FrailLeaf @Pawlicker Not only that, but it also features IPv6 support out of box, so I could connect to my Yggdrasil mirror without setting up a proxy.

@mint @Pawlicker that's based

@FrailLeaf @mint I'm going to be ordering goteks to replace the floppy drives in my pc88 given nothing boots on them and you need a 40 track drive to write to them, and the 40 track drive in my apc iii is toast...

@mint @FrailLeaf @Pawlicker
Is yggdrasil worth it compared to tor and i2p? What are you using it for?
-
@laurel @Pawlicker @FrailLeaf It's different. There's no multilayered onion routing (though you could still use Tor or I2P peers only), just a spanning tree-like protocol, thus it feels much faster than the other two. Consider it an expandable mesh LAN with encrypted node-to-node communication.

@Pawlicker 5212 with Aero works just fine after disabling machine check in registry, and actually feels pretty smooth. It also had drivers for 915GM out of box. Sadly, it has a borked UAC implementation, so I can't get any browsers to run.

@mint @Pawlicker Aero was such a great look I don't know why they abandoned that for the boring flat look.
