@deprecated_ii 2^n+1 will come out odd for any n>0, and n/2 will eventually necessarily become odd. Therefore pulling the lever will always kill an infinite number of people.
If they're Jews, they'll magically survive it.

@Zerglingman @deprecated_ii This is right, even if it was meant to be 2*n + 1.
This is meant to mimic a well known open problem in Math, but the image fucked it up because the guy making this is retarded.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @deprecated_ii Is it looking for primes or something?
-
@Zerglingman @deprecated_ii It's meant to be 3*n + 1, which is the Collatz Conjecture.
In the 3*n+1 case, if you start at 4, then you divide by 2 to get to 2, then you divide by 2 again to get to 1, then you go back up to 4.
The question - which is open - is whether this happens for all starting values.
-
@Zerglingman @deprecated_ii (that is, whether you eventually reach 1)
-
@Zerglingman @deprecated_ii yeah but you're adding the 2*n +1 to the existing number - so really it's n+2*n+1 -> 3*n+1 so it becomes even if n is an odd number (which it always is for this to happen)

@cassidyclown @deprecated_ii Oh hurr, my bad.
