   I had no idea until that AA stream on the War of 1812 that all of New England refused to fight and didn't agree with the war, and just let the southern states do it, whilst they traded with and supported Britain in the background. And then later New England organized the Hartford Convention where *they* themselves argued about considering secession from the southern states! absolutely bananas period in history
