   (GrapheneOS actually patched this for newest EOL Pixel 4, 4a and 4XL devices with there extended support patches)

     @EdBoatConnoisseur @DarkMahesvara it is possible that with the new regulations of the EU the manufacturers increase the support time to the new devices which in the long run would be very beneficial

     @Narbray yes. preferably one the newest so you get the full 5 (or 7) years update. pixel newer than 5 receive 5 years of security updates so you could get a used one if you okay with getting less than 5 years.

     The reality of the matter is that for open source projects to support devices and libraries for extended time becomes a chore, however for companies to stop supporting devices is just financial profit by forcong you to accquire a supported device…

     if I buy a pixel that no longer receives updates and installs graphneos would receive security updates?
