Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks (washedoutgundampilot@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 17-Sep-2023 05:06:31 JST Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks My buddy just got one of these at an industry thing earlier. Nobody ever followed up on it, and AFAIK they never confirmed it, but he said there was someone walking around w/ a big box of new usb drives saying “oh this is from {Lockheed}, they forgot to give it out at their presentation”
He gave it to his people and it bricked the guys windows comp for a bit, then a flashed some windows and went back to normal. They all shrugged it off, and he raised the possibility of it being a hack of some sort. Everyone kept shrugging it off so he told me over drinks that night and we’re quietly laughing about whatever’s happening behind the scenes.
What’s funny is that macs and linux seemed unaffected. I tried running it on my ubuntu install, and it was just some old file type (can’t recall which…DOS maybe? I couldn’t read any of it). I think the impact is blunted since so many just use macs too. They said none of the files worked, not even named like the usual corp package.
