   And this, ladies and gentleman, is why many people will never join the Fediverse. Arrogant condescension and trashing of anyone who dare uses another platform besides Mastodon/Firefish.

   If you don't like something, don't use it. But this is not how you evangelize for the Fediverse.

     Inherited one on a FOSS project. A year later, I'm sympathetic to corporal punishment for Discord evangelism.

     @a1ba @rudiev They're wrong that those other platforms add nothing over top of Discord. For all Discord's faults it has a lot of useful functionality in one application. He's right about everything else though, as a support forum Discord fucking sucks.

     @rudiev but is he wrong though? Discord is overbloated with useless features, MS Teams are tracking (and also bloated but not of features but because it's web tech shit).
     
     But I wouldn't say IRC or Jitsi Meet are our saviors. To me IRC is dead, it's so simple and stupid, it annoys me. Jitsi Meet web interface requires latest possible browsers which may not possible, and it randomly may freeze video stream. Mumble is the only thing that works from that list.
     
     The only thing I hate about these people #is #the #extensive #use #of #hashtags #that #it #is #not #readable #anymore.
